I have a 1995 f250 with a few eratating (spelling?) problems..
#1 is the heat/ac. I have nothing.. I think its the blower but not sure how to confirm that. Nothing on low. med. or high. nothing with heat or ac. I checked the fuse, its good. How do I test the switch or the blower.
#2 windshield wipers.. I have no delay or low or high. Though when I reach high, the wipers go once. then I can switch to low, nothing happens, then switch back to high and they go once again. Thats all I got there. Is it the switch or the motor or ??. Seems to me to be the switch.
#3 I have dual tanks.. I have searched and read most of the other posts on this, but can't seem to find my problem. rear tank seems to work fine. Runs and gauge reads accuratly as far as I can tell. Front tank though, I switch to the front and right away the motor runs differently and slowly starts to stutter and bog and then finally cuts off. While that is going on, the gauge climbed to half a tank. i haven't phyically checked the tank for gas.. but pretty sure its in there. What could this be.. Fuel pump ??
Thanks in advance for any insight on these problems..
This is a great site..
1. The blower is NOT spinning on any settings. I checked the fuse in the fuse box, Are there others in-line? I was going to try to jump the blower and see what happens then..
2. If its the switch. Do I replace the whole thing off the column, or a switch inside of it..
3. Figure it was the pump. that should be fun !!
not sure of #1 or 3 but on #2 i had 93 with very high mileage and interval wiper switch did the same thing. i noticed if i wiggled the switch in most positions it would work ok till i hit a bump in road. i just kinda chalked it up as old and worn out switch. just bought a 96 with 56,000 on her so if i start having the same problem in future i know where to look for the problem. i am not sure on replacement. i would think that it is sold as an assembly that bolts to steering column including turn signal switch and emergency flasher switch. at least that is what it appears from doing my own snooping. #2: Wiper control arm switch most likely worn out. This is very common, I just had mine replaced for the same symptoms. The stearing wheel has to come off and the wiper control arm harness unplugs from inside the column.
Can't help you on the rest but it sounds like the switch is worn out on the air/heat control also.
I think I have come to the same solution. Turn signal switch.. Heres the funny thing I came acrosss this weekend.. You know the turn signal, high/low beam, and wiper control stick. The same thing we talked about above.. When its in the low beam position (pull towards the driver) thats when it acts that explained. Now if its in the high beam position (pushed towards the front) they work perfectly fine.. Now whats up with that ??? I guess could still be a switch.. But boy, thins are sure strange thee !!! haha..
Didn't really get a chance to check on the rest.. Had a death at the end of the week and some good friends in town over the weekend !!
