i'll bet everyone on this forum has some little bits of inside information about the place they work, the city they live in, or whatever. here, i'll start. I live in las vegas and i find that alot of tourists think that the video poker machines have some sort of counter in them and that after a certain number of plays, the machine will hit. i can tell you from the slot techs that i know, that it is all random, and there is no "magic number" of plays that will guarantee a win. when you guys come here, always bet max. and never play with scared money. Aren't our casinos luxurious? thank you all very much!
Iowa isn't flat, at least not the whole state, maybe less than 1/4 is, get's pretty steep sometimes, and rocky... Also, we have a flourishing industrial base, even have logging! Flat!?!?... A kinda neat little thing though, the farm on which I now live was the site of the Battle of Pea Ridge back in the civil war, never even knew it got this far north... Keokuk has an annual reenactment of that battle, although I live 30 miles away to the west...

We have way too many people in Calif. (Proposed new state motto: Welcome to California. Now go home.) But I guess that's no secret. Here in Lake County we have a lot of water, and not much else. Lotsa vinyards. Francis Ford Coppola's estate and winery is in Napa County, next county south of us, about a 45 min. drive from here. Guy who used to play fiddle with Charlie Daniels Band lives across the lake from me. Some famous former Nascar driver lives in Lakeport, can't remember his name. (Can't have been too famous if I'VE never heard of him) Hey look, I'm really reaching, here. Oh yeah, there's a resort about 3 miles from here, called Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa, where they get all the big name has-beens to come and play dinner shows. If you've ever wondered what happened to your favorite band from the last century, they're probably playing there now. -TD
Something I learned at a New England clam bake years ago. Do you know that if you put the oysters, clams or mussels in a bowl of water, then mix in some flour in the water, the little buggers spit out most of the sand they have inside?
I can't give any inside info on where I work, unless I want to get fired. But in the 18 years I have work here, I have discovered that the company's 'Grape Vine' is mostly made up of men. Go figure!
