Vacume pump is on the left front of the engine . If it is the vacume pump you will also expierence brake problems ( no power boost ),it may be a split vacume line or a vacume motor that controles the flow doors under the dash .

The '99 and up models have an electric vacuum pump on top of the right fender well. If the pump is good, you should be able to hear it run when you turn on the key. If it is running, remove the line on the pump and check for a suction at the port. If it is OK, then check for bad vacuum lines, vacuum reservoir, or leaking A/C control switch in the dash. I have found, in the past, that the rotary type switch or it's connector will sometimes leak. LOL
