99 F-250 SD 4X4 - Have followed the turn the ignition off and on til I've gone nuts. Is there any other way? Its not working that way. Standard Ford Keyless Remote. New remote is identical model number to old. The old one still works, but is fading fast.
Programming
NOTE: All keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) must be programmed at the same time.
NOTE: To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the generic electronic module (GEM), perform the following steps.
Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN five times within 10 seconds, ending in RUN. If the GEM has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and unlock all the doors.
Press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed.
If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait for several seconds and press the button again.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to five minutes after step 1, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the GEM will lock and unlock all the doors one last time.
Not all vehicles that have power locks, are able to have remotes programmed. Them gem module has to have the remote option installed for you to even go into programming mode, which I found in my case, did not. So if anyone is looking for a couple of brand new remotes for their vehicle, which have FB-15K601-AA on the back, they are 3 button remotes, I have a couple that I would be glad to sell them, both for $30 + $10 shipping, payable through paypal. But please check to see that you vehicle goes into remote setup mode before even buying them, your owners manual will explain how to get into remote programming mode, and if your door locks lock/unlock then yours will accept these remotes. Anyone interested, please let me know and I will ship them right out.
Mike
First thing I would do on the new remotes is to check and see if the numbers on the back were all the same, then check to see if the new remotes have good batteries in them.

The web says all of these are programable for my 1999 f-350..
When I turn the Key 5 times it recycles,not 8 times..any help??Thanks Wendell
The owner's manual says that up to 4 may be programmed.
I'm not positive but I believe that your dealer can reset this with their WDS or NGS scan tool. If you take it in make sure you take all your remotes along.
Each time you go into program mode, it is supposed to wipe out all remotes and start over, thats why you have to program all remotes at the same time.
Does anyone know if you can change just the GEM and have the keyless work??? Good Luck, R.
