Location of Crankcase breather filter?
I have a 1995 F-150 that i just bought. It has a 302 V-8 and auto trans. I am going through it and changing all the filters and fluids and all that good stuff. I was wondering if anyone can tell me where the darn crankcase breather filter would be located? When I changed the air filter I looked all through the air box and didn't find one. From my other vehicles I've owned the breather filter is usually in the air box. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated..... Thank you for your help in this matter..

Thank you!!!
The truck does have a mass air flow sensor. The Y is there and I do see the tube that goes to the valve cover near the oil filler cap. I guess I'll have to take the breather filter back to auto zone where I bought it and get a refund. My question is why didn't they know that my vehicle doesn't have a breather filter? Also why wouldn't my truck have a breather filter. Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. Drew.....

On mass air vehicles, they run the crankcase vent off of the fresh air line so that the mass air meter measures all of the air entering the engine. This accounts for the gases that get sucked through the pcv valve into the engine. The air is still filtered, so that's not a problem - it just doesn't have a dedicated filter like the speed density systems, where the only thing that matters is manifold vacuum. Not all '95 trucks were mass air - some were, some weren't. I think most were speed density and not mass air, so I guess either the guy didn't know to ask, or just assumed that it was speed density.
