I bought a 99 super duty V10 almost a year ago. It had a 6" lift on it already, but I dont know the make. I want to add about 5" more to my lift or replace the lift kit it has now....any idea's. I cant go to high, I only have an 8' garage door.
I have thought about an air bag system...any pros or cons. Or should I stick with a new kit...and which one would work best for me.
You might want to take some measurements there. With a 6" lift already, I'm guessing my truck sits around 7' 9" or so. There is a parking garage downtown that is 8 ft, my truck fits by about 3 inches or so, but the antenna hits the roof.
v10 junkie if you want to go with the new kit you could always do an 8 inch kit with a body lift on that to get you over 10". I think superlift, and edge have 10" kits I might be wrong though. Kelderman air rides has some really nice air bag kits. You can go to there website and take a look at their setup. The nice thing about the air bags is the ability to drop height when you need to. It's kinda like an adjustable suspension lift .
If you wanted to keep you existing lift, you might want to look into a hanger kit, fabtech, edge, and other popular companies make 'em. I don't know if they have 5" hanger kits, but I'm sure I've seen at least 4" kits.
Kelderman has a bolt on kit I think for superduty trucks. I may be wrong, but I do know they were featured in the July issue of Offroad, might be worth checkin out.
