Tach sensor price question

Tach sensor price question

Hey all, is the tach sensor for the 7.3 in our fords any different than the ones International used in their vehicles? I just checked at the local ford dealers and they are quoting me between 60-75 dollars. Is it any cheaper to go and get one through international? I guess where I'm going with this is I called the international dealership the other day, and needless to say I was up front with him that I had a 7.3 in a 90 f 250 and he told me the stuff would be different and wouldn't give me a price on it. I have a hard time believing that but I guess anything's possible. Anyway thanks alot for your help.

I wouldnt think he would lie about it, he should want to sell you one if it would work. I just paid $55 for one at the Ford dealership. I have a used one that I would sell for $30 (the sensor was not my problem).

Thanks for the reply Dwest, I'll probably just run down to the ford dealer and pick one up, but I figured I'd ask and see before I drop any money on the counter.
