Help grounding an amp.

Hey guys, I just got my 2000 F150 XCab Stepside and I am installing my amp and crap and have a quick question.

I'm putting the sub behind the drivers seat, my box fits perfectly when the rar seat is up. I'm doing this so I can remove it when needed, anyways, my amp will also be on the back of the box for easy removal.

After all that, heres my question. Where is a good spot for the ground? I have seen posts where people have made a hole in their seat brackets but I'm not sure if that is a great ground source. Any suggestions? I have looked and cant really come up with a good spot and I dont want to remove the rear seat and carpet.

Heck, if the hole in the seat bracket is ok, then I'm all about it. Thanks

While grounding the amps to the seat brackets MAY work OK, the surefire way is to ground directly to the floor pan. Doing something otherwise may result in the dreaded ground loop noise in your system. Grounding directly to the floor would probably require you to remove some trim pieces and/or seat in order to pull up the carpeting.

You can hide the ground in the door sill channel. Just full off the the plastic trim pieces on the edge of the floor and use a self tapping sheet metal screw with a washer, don't forget to scrape off the paint and use some grease to make a good contact and keep the rust away. Double check under the truck so you don't hit anything when you drill. This is the best place to run you wires from the radio back to the rear of the cab, just keep your RCA's and power wires seperate to prevent any noise.
