78 f150 cd headunit installation?

78 f150 cd headunit installation?

How do you do it exactly cause i see a cage front is made only for a knobbed cassette deck and i would like a cd head unit instead of a 6 disc and running through the radio. Are there any aftermarket parts to install one. Any way other than modifying the front metal.

Crutchfield only lists the **** style head units for your truck so my thinking is you may have to modify your dash. Although I think I have seen a **** style cassette head unit that had a 6 disc changer in a JC Whitney catalog once. By the way, welcome to FTE!

Most people that have that year a truck cut a hole in the dash for it.

My $.02 - I mounted an underdash kit in my 79 F150. It fit perfectly right underneath the ash tray. I didn't have to mess with the stock unit or cut a hole in my dash.
