Up-sizing tires

I have a 94 Explorer 4X4 with 68000 miles. I bought this truck in May with 65000 miles. The previous owner replaced the factory 225/70R15 Firestone FR480's with 235/75R15 Goodyear Wranglers. I notice at 50 MPH, it feels more like 55 MPH. The Explorer seems to be going about 5 MPH faster that what the speedo shows. Can this be attributed to the tire size change? I really like the look of the larger tire. It really fills up the wheel wells.

If you can not do that then the Ford dealer can get the proper speedometer gear. They have them for all combos of tires and axel ratio. With the proper speedo gear your road speed will again be close to the indicated speed but it probably will show 2 or 3 mph faster than the actual speed, saves speeding tickets..? I did the very same thing with my 95. The new gear fixed everything. You will need your vehicle VIN and axel code.
