What can I do if anything to increase some low end torque in my 302, Mazda Tranny?
I'm not really into high horse power since I don't take my truck over 25-2700 rpms. I know that they have an effect on each other but is there something that I can do (bolt on) that has more of an increase on the torque side then HP?
I found this site, I got a thread going on the gen auto forum. I dont know if the specs they provided are accurate or not. The %'s may seem small, but every little thing helps. Its not for your engine, not mine either, but the same things apply. You could do a search here, "302 Performance" and that might get some ideas. You could buy an intake spacer to lengthen the runners. Longer runners+more torque. A different cam wouls help, but I dont know if you consider that a bolt on. Theres alot of after market parts available for the 302, consid it is(was) the same motor used in the mustang.
