98 explorer transponder key

Did all 1998 explorers come with transponder ignition keys?
Only the 5.0 litres? Only Eddie Bauers?

If you are referring to the SecureLock (or was it SecureTheft?) system that was introduced in '98 then yes, all Explorers have it beginning in '98.

and rangers if you have both original keys.you can reprogram as many as you want.the procedure is in the manual

Yes the 1998 and up all came with a transponder key and if you need a replacement key at half the cost go to EBAY the cheapest place to get one and the programming is very easy check your manual.
