nevermind about that last post, you can buy 2 spacers for less the price of enough stock to make a 2" one...and spacers just don't seem to be worth the effort to me
I'll let you know tomorrow re: the 75mm TB. I'm putting one on my 02 F250 5.4L in the morning. I already have the spacer, programer,flowmaster,K/N,etc. So I'll let you know if it is worth installing. I got mine from a roommate who crashed his truck before he had a chance to install it.

I have a couple of simple questions on my '02 5.4L.
I ran a TBS on an 01 F150, and it was a total waste of money. It didnt provide any power gains, and gave off this annoying whistling noise at certain rpms. Yeah, it didnt stay on long....

On my '98 Expy I have the same whistling noise and it really is annoying. Oh well, I didn't spend but $20 on it (found a Poweraid on eBay) so I will leave it on. I can't say it adds power, but it improved my mileage ever so slightly but really it was negligible since I put on bigger tires.
Overall, my point is, unless you find one for a steal like I did, don't spend your hard earned money on one at full price.
Well, I put it in yesterday and it took about 20 minutes. Real easy!!! I have a spacer,cat-back,gibson headers, cold air intake, superchip reprogrammer. I had to reprogram my computer to stock then run the engine at idle till warm then reprogram the truck to the performance level. I don't have any whisling with the spacer or the throttle body. I think the truck has a little better hp and sounds throatier.
I've noticed that the BBK unit was a well polished on the inside, where the stock unit was quite rough and un-uniform.
So far I'm pleased with it. This weekend it'll get the ultimate test...I'll be trailering a ~6650lb military generator about 200 mi with some pretty good hills.
So... if we took the existing TB and polished via a dremel or other similar tool... Just thought. I doubt it would improve performance that much. Looking forward to your results Super.

Prolly not, you'd still be limited by the butterfly, you couldn't modify that area, or you'd have erratic control. I was just noting the crude appearance vs the aftermarket TB.
The seat-of-the-pants dyno says that there is a noticeable improvement, it pulls a bit better off the line at full throttle and rolling when you punch it.
It's kind of hard not to floor it all the time now!
Keep in mind that I have a Diablo Chip, Flowmaster exhaust and a MAC intake.

Super-
Did you change the tune on the chip to account for the new TB, or use the same one? I have a theory that the chips are tuned for "all the cookies." and your comment on the seat of the pants dyno kinda lends itself to that.
I did not have the chip changed after adding the new TB.
Do you think that a different tune would help or do you think the chip is taking advantage of the improvements? I know we can send the chips back in and have them changed, but I'm leaning towards a programmer. I like to tweak and tinker.

This is a question that is probably better answered by Ken.
According to Motorhaven, a chip can be custom tuned to take advantage of a bigger TB.
Personally I'm not sure, but in my case I already have a Diablo Delta chip, and it is a real PIA to change it in and out. I had to do it so many times on this truck as Ken and I had troubles getting a tune to stick. I've literally got it down to a art.
If there was a chance of even more power from sending in my chip to be re-flashed to take advantage of the bigger TB, I would certainly do it, but I simply don't know for sure.
LxMan1, Could you contact Ken (webmaster), too see what his thoughts are on this matter?
TIA!
