Purchased a F-350 dually Sept 03, was built Jan 03. To date has 106k. So far have had 16 injectors replaced by 6 different dealers. Looking for alittle insight on this engine. Surely if there is a problem, someone has come up with a solution. I hope.
Bummer about the problems. With 106k miles on it, you don't have a lot of options, I'm afraid. Your way past qualifying for a DSB or Lemon Law case as most of those are limited when it comes to years and mileage.
Do you know if they're using the old C94 injectors to replace the bad ones with? If they're the newer c95's, you shouldn't be having any ongoing problems. Paying for injectors yourself, as I'd guess you know by now, is pretty pricey. Might be less expensive in the long run to trade up on an 05. The 04+ motor is not perfect either (lack of PI, for example) but it's a lot more reliable than the 03's.
Thanks for the info. I'm dealing with the dispute board now. I began the process prior to 100k. We'll see how customer friendly they are. I also have a 2002 F-350 crew cab 4X4 Lariat with the V-10. Couldn't be happier with this vehicle.

I am more than curious. Did you buy it new? 106K? That is more than 10,000 miles a month. 2500 miles a week. And time out for 16 injector changes? How did you do that? What kind of insight are you looking for?
I bought new for my father who is a retired truck driver. He hauls around 5th wheel travel trailers from factory to dealer to make a little extra. Hasn't exactly worked out. I'm trying to figure out if there is a design problem with this engine, or because it was built Jan. 27th, Superbowl.
Thanks for the reply Sly...I don't know if it will ultimately extend the life of my injectors or not but, I use Power Service @ every fill up. If it does then the additional cost of additive is worth more than the aggrevation of down time. Plus the added side benefits of higher cetane, increased lubricity, etc..

I would not look at the injectors........but at what supplies the oil...supplying way too much oil presure will kill them....might not be the injectors...food for thought
sorry, your either a troll, or you have an entirely different problem!
when they replace one of these injectors, and the truck runs good for the moment, trade it in at the same dealership!!!!!!!!! since they cannot deliver a truck that don't run, sign your service dept papers, and go straight to the sales office without ever taking the truck!!!!!!!!!!
is that so hard? if they cannot fix it, bummer for them right>????
