adjusting rear leafspring height

my truck sits 1/2" lower on the front passenger side, I phoned a spring shop and he said thats cause the rear leaf on the opposite corner is higher, well he was right, but he wanted to take it out and re-arch it,but I remember a guy put rear leafs in my 78 bronco, and to even them out, he unbolted the leaf at the back on the higher side and hung on it to weaken the arch and bolted it back up, did it a couple of times till the truck sat level, anyone try this?

Yeah, but it will eventually sag again. Mine set pretty level, but when I took them off, I swapped them side to side so that the weight difference would be switched on the leaves. Ted
