Unhappy Dimensions for 1940-47 Cab

I've got a 40 pickup, the floors and rockers are weak, I need to replace sheetmetal, and need the following dimensions:
  • door opening width at the top of the rocker panel
  • internal cab width
    • from lower hinge to lower hinge (inner edges)
    • between rear pillar at the rocker level (please state ref. point on the pillars)
OR... point me to a web site..?

Please find attached measurements for '40 Pickup.

Door opening at top of rocker panel: 31 1/8 "

Width from inner hinge to inner hinge: 41 1/2"

Width of rear of cab, measurement taken from inside to inside of pillar, and a same level as seat base (top) which is 2" below the bottom of the square knockout hole on either door pillar: 50 1/4 "

Hope this helps! AL

AL is the cabs of '40-'47 the same width at the front of the cab as it is at the rear of it? Could you measure at the front of the door openning across to see if it is the same as at the back and also check the width at the dash height and at the roof height please it would be greatly apperciated. Thanks

The front of the 40 is pinched in the front of the door area and wider to the rear. I'll give you those measurements later today. Also, you should also have the cab squared, measure diagonally from, say top hinge hole across to body line on the oposite side. This will properly align the body especially when you are replacing floors pans.

The hardest thing to find around here is someone to give you a measurement! WHY IS THAT?????

40 4X4,

Damn, is it hard to get things done!

Here's your measurements:

Inside of upper hinge to inside upper hinge: 43"

inside of upper windshield to inside upper w/s ( where two depressions are): 44"

Inside cab @ door latch dovetail: 52 1/2"

Inside cab @ upper rubber insert: 52 1/8"

Diagonally from upper hinge pin to outside of beltline (rear indentation) 64 5/8"

If you're having trouble with finding these locations give me a shout and I'll send you a picture of these locations. AL
