Reviva engine

Well I blew my Reviva 7.3 turbo up today.
9785 miles on this one.
Sounds like a feed mill grinding rocks.

Guess that is a lot better than the 2759 I got out of the last one.

Anyone else got a Reviva engine?
How is it doing?
How many miles?

That sucks! Why do you think you are having problems? Poor quality?

As a matter of fact i just had a school bus that was pushing water out of the radiator. Installed a REVIVA engine and it was pushing it out worse than before. They shipped us another one and it is ok ....... for now.

Never heard of them till now, but you can bet that I won't ever install one now that I've heard all of your problems.

That really sucks.

Engine number three is to arrive first of the week.

Two engines only got me 12,544 miles down the road.
They are paying for the swap, but I am walking right now, and have walked more since I installed the first one than I did in 252,000 with the stock 6.9.

This one broke the crank between cylinder 6 and 7 while just driving down the road at 45 MPH. No load or anything.

It is really to bad it broke, cause it ran like a scalded dog and had boat loads of power.

I guess as long as they keep sending me a new motor every four months on average, who cares. The down time is killing me though.

Maybe it's time for that Jasper motor. Just kidding! I still haven't tried one yet either. I can say I've never had any of the engines go bad I got from MotorWorks in Spokane though.

What kind of price do they have on theirs?
I got this one for 6595, complete drop in 7.3 turbo and traded in my stock 6.9 NA.
It also came with a complete Walker 3" exhaust system.
Shipping was included for the engine to West Virginia from Minnisota, and the core back to them.
Also it had two year unlimited mileage warranty, that I am getting a lot of use out of.
They so far have paid for everything except WV sales tax and fluids on the warranty swaps.
The only fluid I have to take care of is coolant, because it ships with oil already in the engine, it even has diesel in the filter and is primed.
They dyno the engine before it ships.

Last one showed 223 HP at 2900 and 430 ft lbs at 1900.

Not sure about the turbo upgrade pricing. We've been buying long blocks for around $3600 and hot run completes for around $5k. This last hot run is giving us a little bit of trouble though. It smokes blue on cold start for around 30 seconds and is smoking black on hills while loosing power. Hopefully it's something simple, like a bad pump rebuild or bum injector.

Both of these engines were good, right up to when they blew.
The second one was great, I just hope the replacement is as strong.

If I had time to do the legal crap I would not be installing this one.
The year is getting way to close to snow season to be messing with a bad motor.

My 6.9 was still running strong, I just could not afford the oil bill anymore.

Kinda like, "Fill her up with oil and check the fuel" if there was such a thing as full service fuel stops anymore.

Heh-heh, my Dad's 6.9 is about there right now. Except he'd say, "fill up the oil and fuel!"

Anyone had success or troubles with one of these lately? I am looking at a 2000 7.3 with a Reviva crate engine put in 50,000 km ago (31k miles). 404k km on the body (250k mi) Obviously it's been a while since Dave's troubles and I can't seem to find anything else online.

Never heard of this engine rebuilder before. Doesn`t sound good.
Did a Google search on Reviva and came up with a thread from this forum but for the 6.0 Diesel.
It`s from 2014, they are still around, but same crappy rattle can rebuilds. Go down to post#14.
