Just pulled the clamp. left the 5.6k on the inline. (from what I understand, it does nothing as a stand-a-lone.) put the 10k in, and shimmed the regulator....not as much power as the clamp, but the new power I have is stable. The clamp would alert my C.E.L . right off the get go. The 10k + shim,..no lights!
I would recomend anybody doing any mods that they print out the instructions and have them with them when doing the install. I read the info on the puter for the shim mod, went outside to the truck and installed it, only to find out that I f*&k up bad. I pulled the 19mm bolt, the spring, and the tryangle housing. Then put the 3/16" shim in the port. Needless to say, there is a port hole in the vacant structure that will accomidate the shim. I had to take apart the regulator to retrieve my lost shim. Any how, thanks for the info. This is a great web site!
