Carburater problems
I have a question about this new truck I got a while ago its got a 302 engine in it. My problem is the idle... the carburater is a 4 barrel im pretty sure..It has always had problems with the idle like it taking forever for it to go down when I start it up. But I was changing the valve cover gaskets cause they were leaking oil and I had to unhook some hoses what I think was vacume hose's to get into the covers and I was bumping into the carburater cause it was a very tight space
but I got the new gaskets and all that worked out but when I started the car up it idled kinda high then I pressed the gas and it just slowly droped till the engine shut off. I tryed it again and the same problem. Could one of the vacume hose's being out cause this problem? Or is it somthing else I hope I didnt mess up anything but I marked all the hoses as I took them out. There was one hose that was old and dry rotted so it broke which im getting a new one but it just went to the brake booster I think its called. Is there anything I can adjust for the idle? Or is that not the problem? I can keep the car runing as long as I hold the gas pedal down alittle.
Your help with this question would be greatly apreciated thanks.
