Several problems, help please
I recently went through and spection and failed for emissions. They gave me the error codes and I came on here to find out what they meant, however i have no clue how to fix them. Im new to all this mechanic stuff but i want to learn. If you guys could give me some input on what the following things mean and maybe some links on how to fix em id really appreciate it.
P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Flow Improper
P0133 Upstream HO2S Circuit Slow Response, Bank No. 1
P0401 Insufficient EGR Flow
P1131 Lack Of Upstream HO2S Switch, Sensor Indicates Lean, Bank No. 1

specs? whats ur engine size/yr etc?
i believe the HO2S is the oxygen sensor and there is nothing to it just buy/rent the special socket and tool and buy a replacment sensor (the socket, tool, and sensor can be picked up at any decent parts store.... the sensor is around $50) but it looks like you have more than one and someone else will hafta tell you which one is sending the code ... however you might want to consider replacing all of them if the other one(s) is the same age it will probably go soon too
someone else will hafta help with the exhaust recirculation ... has someone removed the smog pump?
and ps pick up a hayes manual or chiltons manual or both ... they are very very very helpful to ppl new at this like you and me

oh yeah there is a very helpful search feature on this site
remember to pay attention to the characters like + if u want to narrow ur search and look up articles with all the words instead of any of the words
just tellin ya incase ur like me and never read directions lol
