Thats too bad your brother got sucked in to the Dodge world. Ill bet hell wish he had his 350 again. Boy the only thing Ford has got is its name. Thats kind of a putdown isnt it. Fords got the better overall truck period from body to chassis, transmission to drive train. I see Dodge still hasnt gotten a descent transmission behind there cummins. Will they ever learn. Not even a descent crewcab either. If I was in charge of Dodge trucks I could do alot better then those clowns. It looks like to me they dont take there truck business very seriously. Chevy I wont even go there. There just an expensive truck thats built cheap. Not made to take any kind of abuse period.
This is the ford vs the competition forum so Ill figure I will share. I have a brother that uses his truck for work. He had a ford v10 and bought a dodge hemi. Against my better judgement I might add. I told him to buy a PSD but he didnt listen. His dodge now has 45k miles as did his v10 when he traded it. The dodge has had one issue and it dealt with him running his battery dead. The ford v10 was on its third torque converter. Just one mans experience. Not for good not for bad. Two comparable trucks. I think he likes the dodge better. Up til now he has only owned fords.

I came here because this is the best truck forum site. All of the other ones I found are boring in my opinion. Some people here probably own a Dodge Cummins. At least 1 person owns a GMC Duramax. I don't have any pictures in my gallery because I don't own a truck(but I dream of someday owning one). "The purpose of this forum is to make intelligent comparisons of other makes against ford. They don't have to be in favor of Ford but they must be reasonable in any matter or direction."
That last comment of mine was illogical. I'm sorry, I will refrain from that in the future. I merely meant that the Ford has a powerful brand name; and it's for a reason. They earned it by making darn good cars and trucks.

I am also a member of other forums, but the debates are better on here and I like the overall setup on FTE better to . I post because I like to feel included even if I don't contribute alot of technical knowledge.
Try pickuptruck.com. This website is about a lot more than the Ford vs The Competition forum. That's what the webmaster and Tim are saying. It's also about more than trucks in general, it's about Ford trucks. Contribute to FTE in general or don't participate at all. This forum isn't the place to start trouble or bash other brands.
On one side note, this forum is for technical comparison only. If you don't have the knowledge a lot of the time, as you state, then you shouldn't be posting anyway.

I agree. Well I don't bring up tons of theoretical numbers like Ironman was spewing, but not many people do. Then again I noticed he was throwing out snide comments like "Duramax is a Riceburner, but worth a look" and "You get a complementary pair of chopsticks when you buy a Duramax, I'll take your fortune cookies if you don't want them" for quite some time before he got booted. That doesn't sound very technical to me. More like brand bashing by nationality. The only thing I'VE been doing is defending other brands.
You are ONLY "defending" other brands and not contributing to the main forums on FTE. That was their gripe.
I've said my $.02 and tried to clarify it for you, now you can take the comments and do with them as you wish. Once the webmaster calls you out it's time to shape up or ship out.

You took those out of context. He was just joking around. He provided more useful and factual info than anyone else here. Plus the fact that he's an engineer is grounds enough for his numbers.
Chevy pulling RV with Duramax that commited Hari-Kari and self-imploded when extreme torque sucked in the engine mounts on either side. Saw a PSD passing by w/ twice the trailer size and had gunned it:
What a thread! Wow! This is hilarious, and I haven't seen humor like this anywhere else. We have all the pictures of that post taped above the coffee machine. This made our day. Especially since it's so pro-powerstroke. You guys are taking yourselves way too seriously. Looks like the only poster with a sense of humor is gone.
This is the last time.......get this back on track.....a copy of the FIRST post.
OK guys, you want to talk PSD vs Cummins, post here. Let's keep this thread on the subject and let the "other" thread die. It has nothing to do with this comparison.
Let's keep this debate civil. Facts only please, not emotional or inflammatory posts. If you can't do this, don't post in this thread (it is actually in the guidelines for this forum anyway).
Maybe someone could start by posting the technical specifications for both engines.

Sense of humor? You and Ironman apparently share the same very sick sense of humor. I don't find extremely horrible traffic accidents that people probably died funniest in the slight. Sorry if you don't see me laughing when they pull the dead mangled bodies of a family from a wrecked "diesel" truck or any other vehicle.
