hello all, i have not been around much cause im TDY (military).. and only have a military labtop to work with... very slow... tooo slow in fact to use search feature.. sorry but i have to ask..sorry Yeti and ya'll.. i know this has bee asked a million times, but frankly i never followed much of it.. my question is for a friend who just got a new 2003 model 250 V8, he's askin me if he can fit 315's without issue... my question to you is how do they compare to 33's.. i basically know what to say to 33's... it can be done with minor rubing..i would recommed against it myself...BUT how big are 315s...will they fit?.....sorry to ask the same thing ..but my search is to slow.. and im too lazy.. thanks guys.
JJ
This is a pic of 35X12.50X16.5's on my truck with no lift.
Now remeber, I had X springs, and a 5.4, so it would sit the highest out of all the combos out there.
315 / 70's are 33.5" tall. No rubbing with moderate off roading in the Sand Dunes. Different trucks set different heights with the factory X code springs. You can check out the pictures in my Gallery. If you are planning any serious off roading I would have to agree with "YETI"... they are to tall with no suspension lift.
also, never heard of a 315/70/16........ doubt it exists. try a 305/70/16, or a 295/75/16..... i vote for the 295's, as they are a bit narrower, and fit the wheels better.
i ran em for 13k on my unlifted sd, no issues, even "serious" off roading em
i stand corrected, (happens alot).... however, i stand by my original statments, even a driveway will make those rub, let alone a speed bump.
I agree that they will problably rub due to the fact that they are almost if not 35" to close for comfort. the goodyears i mentioned earlier were the only onse measuring 33.5" and the only with a 70 aspect ratio.
my dad just put 315 on his 03 f-350 with psd. they are dick cepek 315 on m/t classic two's so the offset isn't the same as stock they stick out a little farther and he also has a 2" leveling kit and they did rub a little on his mud flaps but after slight modification they don't rub in normal driving. they may when stuffed though not sure. hope that info helps
I have put 16,000 miles on these 315 / 70 and then only time they have ever rubbed was in the sand when I came down to hard with the steering cranked to the right and it was on the inner fender. But I do not beat my truck in noway to climb a sand hill., And mattsf250 I have never had them even come close to rubbing in a driveway or over any speed bump. But of course mattsf250 you are an expert on every Ford truck out there and seem to like thinking that every body is misrepresenting what they have or what their experiences are except you.
i have a 2.5" leveling kit on mt truck and an add-a-leaf in the back...i want to konw if anyone has pics of 315's from a distance so i can see what they look like on the truck...do you think they will fit.
