2000 Expy EB starting problem-(strange)
Hi again. This forum has been so helpful thought I would try again with a problem I am having with my expy. Problem: Occasionally when I go to start the expy it will crank and act like it is going to start and then just shut off. I has done this 4 times now in the past 3 weeks or so. Strange thing is is when it does it. So far the first two times it was right after I washed it, put it in the garage and the next morning it acted up. once you get it going it seems fine. The last 2 times it did it was during a 2 day rain at the beach, everytime you would start it, it would stall and act all dumb and once again once you got it going and gave it hell it would run, but every morning it would do it. Well day 3 at the beach, sun came out, everything dried up and expy runs great, no more problem. Now it isn't like I had the hood open and was spraying the engine. Any ideas on this one, I mean to me it certainly seems like a water/moisture problem because of when it does it, question is what is getting wet? Any suggestions would be greaty appreciated. I would look for a windshield leak, which has plagued the full size trucks for sometime. Drench the vehicle around the windshield for about 20 minutes and then crawl in and look around under the dash for water intrusion. Most leaks occur on the left side and drain into the fusebox and GEM module area and can play havoc with many devices. It usually doesnt affect engine starting but anything is possible.
