What is the highest output OEM Ford alternator and what application did it come in? I'm lookng to upgrade for a winch and dual battery setup and need a bit more juice than my current 65A is squeezing out.
How about a GM single wire conversion? I know they came in the 200A flavor, anyone done it? What about the GM 150? I'm just looking for the most power I can for a "reasonable" price.
I got a 93 Taurus 130 anp 3G from a bone yard for 30 bucks and am putting new brushes in it for 7 bucks. Same basic bolt pattern as mine on my 86 F250 with 460 in it. Might require a bit of spacing and will require some rewiring, but nothing major.

I might add that you only need to upgrade the wiring harness, specifically the cable running to the battery, if you've drastically increased the load on the system. Simply installing a higher output alternator doesn't require larger guage cable by default.
Well, I hope someone would be installing a higher amp alternator for a reason, so I think it would be good practice to upgrade the output wire size a little bit.
Project is on hold for now(school), but it looks like i'm going to be doing the 130 3G swap, my guess is sometime around thatnksgiving. There will definitely be an icreased load on teh alternator so i'm probbaly going to run at least a 4GA to the battery.
