Is there a way to allow remote door locks to work with the engine running on the 2000 F250 PSD in my sig? Apparently this model disables the remote locks when the ignition is on. I already looked at the wiring diagram in Haynes and found nothing of use. Didn't find anything of use in search either.
In the winter it would be nice to allow the truck to warm with my keys in it and use the key Fob to open the door.
Welcome to FTE!
My "other brand" work truck with an aftermarket alarm will only allow the locks to be locked with the inside switch & not have the alarm go off from the diesel vibration. If I lock the doors with the remote & the engine running, the alarm always trips.
Try starting it & hit the power lock button on the way out and see if yours works like mine. The remote unlock always works OK with my set-up.
AL.
Just tried your suggestion. No deal. Also tried pushing the lock manually. It seems that as long as the key is in the run or accessory position the key fob will not work the locks. Actually did this from outside the truck, spare key in hand. Although it does work with the key in the ignition and in the off position. I think that I'm looking for a wire to force to ground (or power) to complete the circuit for the remote locks.
Thanks for the welcome. I've been here a while reading and learning.
