I'm new to this forum and need some assistance. I have an F150 Supercab with a 4R70W tranny and diagnosed a bad flywheel today. Evidently the OEM starter chipped about 7" worth of teeth off of the flywheel.
Has anyone changed the flywheel without pulling the tranny and if so, how did you accomplish the task?
Hi and Welcome to FTE,
this link is for a C-6 trans removel, but it applies in general, it is a good read,
it can be found in "Tech articles" on the right of the forum. https://www.ford-trucks.com/articles/fordc6.php
you will still need to do most of the things listed, except remove the fluid.
you can also use the search feature, trans removal ....and we also have a transmission forum that may be able to help you out too...i'm soory but i havent had the pleasure of removing one ......Yet..knock on wood.
