I just noticed that the brass valve on top of the filter mounted Oil Guard hook up on top of the engine is hitting the insulation on the bottom of the hood and melting it a little bit. It turned it a white kinda color and i noticed a little denting in the insulation from it. Anyone else have this problom. I dont really see it being a problom since its just hitting the insulation and not the bottom of the hood. I also though am a little worried since i touched the top of the valve after driving to work( 1 hour at 70MPH) that it is SUPPPERRR HOOOTTT and i am worried it might burn the heck out of the insulation or fire. Any Thoughts ideas anything is good. Thanks
I've done 2 oil changes so far on my 04 with an OILGUARD, 15Qts, not a drop more. I blow out the OILGUARD lines, and let the oil drain for at least 1/2 hour. Feel confortable with 141/2, it's 1/3 up the cross hatch area.

I do not have an OilGuard yet but looking at one very seriously. What do you mean blow out the lines?
Also, it seems I want/need 14' of line instead of the default 10'. Most people seem to mount the filter under the passenger side of the truck. I assume horizontally and not vertically? Does orientation work better then the other?
