Airbag... , please help!

Hi, I have a problem on a '00 Explorer XLS. Airbag light is flashing and reports problem #36... but I can't find a description for that code! Does anyone know?

Is that problem serious?

Is your Explorer still warrantied ? If so let your local Ford dealer diagnose the problem . SRS / Airbag related problems should be handled by a pro . They arent a DIY type of problem .

Ok, I agree. But the problem is that where I live there is no LOCAL dealer nor service, so I must do a very long travel to the service and I don't want to take the risk of doing it without airbags. Are they still working?

From what I can gather the code you posted shows high resistance for both the drivers & Passensgers side airbags . There is a mile of pinpoint tests in order to track down the problem . It wont hurt to drive it to the dealer to have it repaired .
