Snowmobilerfreak and Blue'87GT, you must have been posting as I was! I didn't see yours until after my reply was posted. The directions are spot-on. For the late '95-96 Auto hubs there is one snap ring that holds the metal cluster cover, one C-clip that holds the inner cluster, and a washer with a "tail" on it that retains the single bearing retaining nut. The first side took me a couple of days on and off (getting tools, scratching head, typing, etc.) but the other side took about half an hour to completely replace the hub with new bearings and seals. Of course there was a 50/50 chance on the order of the splined washer/spacer/shims and I got it wrong on the first hub, so that was a re-do. It's all together now and the noise and shimmy are gone. So are the grease leaks from the front cover. All in all a GREAT fix for dirt cheap. Thanks to everyone who helped with info.
Got the outside assembly off per your excellent advice
Went to Kragen and rented tool kit #11, but nothing is large enough to use. This is their hub removal kit. What is the actual size of the socket or tool description? Any advice appreciated
