I want to install a Prodigy brake controller in my FX4 screw and don't know were to place it. I think (not sure) that it needs to be mounted parallel to the floor. It that is the case, I would have to mount it really low and I wouldn’t be able to reach it easily while driving. Have any of you installed one of these? If so, do you have any pics
I ordered mine from RVwholesalers for $100 and the Ford connector for $11. I had them overnight it, so I paid $30 in shipping. If your truck comes with the tow package, you should be able to just plug it in.
There is a guy on amazon's auction site selling them for $85, but he didn't return my emails. His loss. BTW, the local trailer place in Dallas quoted me a price of $249, ouch.
We have the Prodigy in our F250, and it doe NOT need to be parallel to the floor from front to back. They do however recommend that it be close to parallel from left to right.
GeorgeFX4. Thanks for posting the RVWholesallers info...just ordered a Prodigy from them...The next cheapest price I found when doing a quick search was $150.
You are welcome. I just installed it this weekend, it took all of ten minutes. I'll try it out this weekend with a trailor and let you know how well it works.
