Question Pop Rivit

I have a question about pop rivets. The wife’s expedition had the actuator riveted on to the door, but the thing popped off. From what I know about rivets that is very uncommon and after going to the dealership for parts they said unless I had the gun, just bolt it back together. Could a person that was trying to slim-jim the door could of broke this rivet?

I think it is highly unlikely that someone attempting to enter your vehicle with a slim jim would have broken your rivet.

What more than likely happened is a manufacturer's flaw. Someone or something on the assembly line didn't rivet it properly, and it was never right to begin with.

Probably just a bad lot of rivets from the manufacturer.
