Looking for exhaust kits/suggestions & supercharger suggestions

I have a 1996 Explorer 5.0. I'd like to get a good, complete exhaust system for it. My mustang has dual 2 1/2". Does such a kit exist for the Explorer or am I best off fabricating on my own? What supercharger kits exist for this? Are there ones to stay away from? I only just found this site today. I have been looking for information on these 2 topics for about 2 months. I have not found anyone who makes a good sized dual exhaust kit. Supercharger kits are easier to find but I am not familiar enough with the market to know who the players are. Any help you all can give me would be appreciated. Thanks.

i don't know the exhaust layout on the 96 my 2000 has fms headers.(best hp improvment fo 260 bucks)stock 2.5" to cats, after cats i put a custom 2.5"x-pipe and two 2.5 edelbrock mufflers and ran 2.5 duals out to stock location flows like heck.superchargers being a 96 you have internal egr.you can't use a positive displacement like explorerexpress.com has.kenne bell might have that style though.powerdyne has one for you though.summit sells it for 2999.95

hi there.

Check and see if Ford has a supercharger kit.I know that they have one for the F150's and such. I believe Ford has a high performance catalog full of products. Where you can get one, I'm not too sure yet as I am looking for one myself. Good luck.

This is probably a stupid question. But couldn't I just swap out the upper and lower intake manifolds to take care of the EGR issue?

New user here.

I have a 1996 XLT Explorer w/a 6 cyl that I want to put dual exhaust on. I pull a camping trailer and thought that by going with duals, it would help engine run better. Of course, since I'm going to put dual exhaust, I want some sound also.

Should I go from CAT back or is there something else?

Thanks for your help!!

jams96xlt - I'd go with a Flow-master 40 Delta series. I would stick with a single 2.5" pipe, but they also have single in dual out. Stick with a Cat-back system for now and look into some free flow cats later down the line. I would look at getting a K/N drop in filter or a KKN open filter too. Getting a performance chip with dual settings. 1 could be for daily driving and the other for when you are towing would help a lot also. Explorer Express has a good selection of power parts to give you some ideas and if you can afford the upgrades they are a great company to deal with.

CharlieTuna - For the 5.0 I would go with a Flow-master 50 Delta series, a chip and look at the Explorer Express Super Charger.
