05 F250 swapping from paddle side mirrors to tow mirrors

I have a 2005 F250 with power paddle mirrors and would like to swap them for the telescoping tow mirrors with heat and turnsignals. Does anyone know if the 2005 is pre wired to accept these mirrors or will I need to get the tow mirrors without the heat and turnsignals? I have heard that the truck comes pre wired but would like to be sure before purchasing the mirrors. Thanks for any info on this topic.

if you look there are a few threads about this and they appear to be easy to wire up if you by chance dont have one that is prewired and I believe that they have have some wiring diagrams too on the threads

I am sure it is plug and play for the adjustments... You probably will have to wire the lights, turnsignals, and heat for the mirrors. Piece of cake though. Just tap into the wires up by the headlight and just a (+) ignition source for the heat..

All the wiring is there no matter what mirrors you have. However, they did have a few different connector variations. Worst case scenario the connectors wont match and you will have to get the adapter harness' or just hard wire them like I did.

I swapped a set of 2006 chrome trailer tow mirrors in for my 2005 paddle mirrors and they were plug and play. Not sure what year they changed the plugs, but if you get a set of power towing mirrors from 2005 to 2007 they will be plug and play for your truck when it comes to turn signals, heat and power...and you will enjoy them. I am now considering the next level of upgrade - the '08/'09 tow mirrors as it sounds like the vision is even better!!

Thanks for all of the info as it will be a great help and I am going to get the tow mirrors with power, heat and turnsignals. I will add to this once I have completed the job with more details on anything that may be helpful for anyone else doing the swap. Thanks again.

I just finished receiving and installing the new tow mirrors. My original paddle mirrors were power only....no heat, turn signal etc. The new tow mirrors are power, heat, parking light and turn signals. They were plug and play for me and the entire job start to finish took just under 2 hrs. Thanks again for the help, they look great and more importantly they work great and towing is a pleasure.

I bought a set for my 08 250, and they were plug ready, even for the heat circuit, they are pricey, got them from the dealer.

Just as long as you have the power paddle mirrors then everything will be pre-wired and it will be plug and play. I changed mirrors on my 05 as well as I needed the towing mirrors.

I have a 01 f250 XLT with power paddle mirrors. wanting to get the tow mirrors with blinkers as well. After running the mirror blinker wire through the door panel where do i splice it to? Where is the best place to access my trucks blinker wires? Also if i wanted to do this, this means i would have to run wires from the mirror then door panel then from the door to my truck body through that black tube in the opening of the door?
