Watch out with porting the heads, he's going to be running 360 rods in it. We dont want it to chuck one out the side of the block...
Even if he did port the heads, I think he'd be fine as long as he didn't take it above 5500rpm. RPM's seem to kill rods a lot faster than just HP.
For a low rpm work motor, I see no reason to port the heads. Smaller ports promote fuel economy and low end torque, I'd leave it the way it is. It'll be PLENTY tough.
CrazyAirman, go for the fuel injection. It's great.
Russ, 1 7/8" headers are considered large tube headers. Something like 1 1/4" to 1 1/2 are considered small. They are tough to find.
Yea your right dont port the heads...but the headers are considdered small at least by what dd would consider so when you do a dd anything upto 1 7/8" is small tube but they are realistically pretty big.
Well header size? I thought I use to know? I always thought anything up too 1 7/8" were considered small tube...and 2" 2 1/8" and 2 1/4" were considered large tube?
What Scoot running on his 511? 2 1/4" something like that..they make mine look like a McDonalds Straw!! LOL!! I dont know anymore, to old and too many new things and too much Beer over the years.....LOL..Russ
I hear that im no expert on headers, I just go off of word of mouth or what ever. I think 17/8 is biggest you can buy pre made in most applications but 2" is BIG...
