OK, most of you in this forum are fimiliar with my build on the 433 Cobra..
I have been doing quite a few DD to find out if the build will support a single plane intake for street use in my 5000lbs truck? And I have been getting ranges from 400 to 500lbs of torque starting @ 2000RPM...
I get thse different ranges depending on if I use .004" @ the cam or .050" @ the cam?
If you guys think I can pull it off on the street let me know, And who's intake you would go with and why? If I can get away with using a single Plane, I have been thinking the Victor FE.....It shows (4000 to 8000rpm)
But the DD show's torque coming on hard @ 2000RPM??
Thanks for the help, Russ

I definately say yes because Ive had cars that were as heavy as these trucks....torinos and t-birds in the 70's werent that heavy and If your getting as much as the stock motors did than you know you'll move the truck just fine with 400-500. Ive also seen 67-72 chevy trucks running single planes on alot of motors from 350 to 502. As for the intake.....well i dont know why you couldnt just buy one from dsc like the holley and save your self like 300 dollars.....
I dont know that there is that much differance when they are just stait shots.

Well years ago before I switched to Ford Trucks...I had bought a new 72 Chebby Cheyenne 1 ton...and I built a seperate Big block for it(about 500HP) and I used an E-Brock torker intake on it..you know the one back then where the carb sat sideways at a 45* angle, and it ran just fine....
But im not sure how my old ford will act..Just some more research before I dump the money..Russ
oh I hear ya....I got a buddy back home that runs a snigle plane holley on his 67 fairlane... its a 302 eith a 750. Its all stock asside from mallory distributer holley carb and intake...i think the carb is too much for it because off the line there is a little bog but when it gets above 2500 It just screams!!! Now if a stock 302 can move that car down the road with a single plane a built to the hilt FE can do it.....but im curious to see who has actually run one..
I was looking and the victor is better atleast because it has the air gap to help bring in cooler air.....the weiand intake looks pretty shabby its flat as a pancake that cant ge that great of an advantage i look for the higher rise versions that drop fuel straiter and more evenly.
Well guys thats why Im leaning hard towards the Victor FE....I like the Fresh air design to it, and plus God willing the ports will be close to the stage IIs, I'll have to talk to Keith about that? I'll Take a look at the dove's also? but I think the Victor will end up being my choice!
Man! I'am going to have to get a second job? anyone hiring? LOL!! Russ
Ya Scoot thats kinda what I was thinking..thats why I sold my other EBrocks...So keith would have free run of the whole top end....He ask me what I had done to the bottom end and my cam choice...And he said he will take it from there!
Just let him know when I have all my money!! LOL!! He said ..just put it on a card?
I said No, I gat myself into too much trouble that way....I'll pay cash! Thank you!LOL!
RapidRuss, have you considered the 427 med riser "sidewinder"? Been told they work great on "extra inch" motors. They'll feed up to 6,500 rpm. Carl.................o&o>........
Advertised duration numbers are said to be the most accurate in dyno 2000 Russ. In Dyno 2003 it takes all the specs and uses a formula to calculate the aggressiveness of the cam.
Ya Carl..I think I have ran thru them all...LOL.. I was just on the Cobra site, and read some things they had to say about the Victoer FE..and they were saying that they havent really noticed a drop in some heavier cars that run them and make 400 to 500lbs of torque...and I should make 500 @ 2000rpm and 600 @ 4500rpm?
And one guy is running a 4800lb Galaxie with a big cube motor and the Victor as a daily driver... I also looked at the new aussie spyder Intake (pretty Neat) Russ
I guess the server was busy? didnt post? Oh well....Sean I have been using @ .050 specs? So its most accurate with as adverised...Hmmm..Thanks for the tip..
I know your DD get alot more precise then these do..
Go to google and type in Victor FE.....and when it comes up..go down to ? I think it says Anyone ever run a Victor FE on a FE..its in the Cobra club.. some good reading..
Sean says the DD2 is most accurate using Adverised timing specs..If that true? Im scared..I just ran the combo with those specs..and Got 663HP @ 6500RPM and 582lbs of torque @5000RPM? OMG!!!! LMAO!!! Russ
