Autometer pyro wiring/install
If you want the EGT gauge to be able to 'dim' along with the rest of the gauges, then you can pull the headlight/dimmer switch panel out, and tie/clip into the light blue with red stripe wire on the panel dimmer control (next to the headlight switch).. The best way to remove the switch panel is to 'carefully' pull the dash panel loose at the 'left' side of the dash and switch, and then reach behind the dash panel and release the tension clips to remove the headlight switch assy.. If you try and pry just the headlight switch out of the dash using a screwdriver ect. it can damage the switch.. The 12V gauge power can be taken from any 'keyed on' power point..Either a fuse, or you can clip into or solder onto the wiring coming off the ignition switch.. Simple to find 'either' with a continuity light.. The brass 'fuse tapes' can sometimes cause a bad connection 'after' their removed, and the fuse alone then replaced because they can 'spread' the fuse contact/prongs and damage them.. Usually not, but I choose to go elsewhere for my power connection.. You should be OK when installing the Predator 'even' with the gauge previously installed.. What they don't want is a 'switching' or sudden current 'drain' or draw, that comes on/off when the Predator is writing the tune.. Or, just install the Predator tune before you do the gauge install if you feel a concern.. I've done Predator installs with and without the gauge, and have had no problems with the install, or return to stock tune in regards to gauge draw.. Hope this helps...
There are pics of my gauge and probe install in my gallery..
