Question Leveling kit

Hello,

I have a 01 F-150 shortbed stepside with a 4.6 L Off Road edition......i'm interested in the leveling kit for my truck.....how much does it lift the front.....my truck seams to be really close now without the kit.... when it's done will it sit level or will the front be higher then the back....and what size tire will i be able to fit after the leveling kit is on

thank you

Why use a leveling kit? You can crank the torsion bars and that will bring the front end up.

On my 01 Supercrew the torsion bars are cranked and I have 285/75R16's on it now.

the torsion bars will only go so far depending on how the truck sits now, and you stand a chance at bottoming the bolts out. To level my 2002 the adjusters had to be screwed all the way to the top. That leaves no room left and if not careful I could have easily stripped them out. It would be nice to have another way to level the front end. There is a guy on ebay that sells new plates to put on the torsion bars that are supposed to give you more adjustment but I have not heard of anyone using them yet so do not know how well they will work.

I would have an alignment shop do it. It is safe and as long as you don't bottom out the bolts like fordborn said you are fine.
