Tranny ID
My 67 F100 has a 390 engine. The tranny is marked C5AR. I know it was origionally a 3 speed in line 6 cylinder. Was this tranny usualy mated to the six cylinder? The 390 is kinda warmed up and I worry about dropping the tranny.

When the engine was changed, the tranny must have been too. AFAIK, the straight six and FE do not have the same bellhousing. Seeing as how Ford only used their stronger transmissions behind the FE's, I wouldn't worry about the transmission surviving.
