I have a B.S. in Mathematics. I think the problem with math is that very few courses actually teach you how to apply the math your learning. Perhaps the most enlightening course I ever took was Operations Research. Just about any problem can be solved using math.... if you know how to apply it.
It is definitely something you forget how to do if you don't use it though.
