I am down to replacing my last emissions part.:7 My EGR valve rusted into two pieces. I was able to loosen the tube that goes down to the exhaust and the top bolt that bolts into, I believe, the engine block. I am trying to figure out/loosen the lower connection. I was able to remove a nut with a flared covering and a washer. I now have what appears to be a 1/2 inch or so long nut. Of course everything is rusty and making the job more difficult. I believe that what I am seeing is a bolt type thing with threads that the lower EGR valve mounting hole slips over. Then there is a thin metal washer, then this long nut. I am spraying it and trying to loosen it by turning it counterclockwise. Am I going about this the right way? I cannot find a diagram on the internet or in my Haynes manual about the removal of the EGR Valve. ANY and ALL help would be GREATLY appreciated.
