Differential cover Question

i got a plain ole aluminum one sitting in my garage i was going to put on, but ended up getting rid of the truck.... i only paid like 15 bucks for it at this junk stor in town.
its brand new, and has no problems... i guess it was a return or somthin.
now its hanging on the wall like a shop ornament i guess.... it actually looks kinda neat up there.
