If you come my way n578md, I'll treat, there's nothing like an In & Out 4x4 or a Tommy's double chilli cheese burger ... man I'm hungry now
Damn, I'm getting hungry just reading about it. In & out must be pretty good because it's not the first time I've seen it mentioned on FTE. I've got a friend from Tennessee that keeps talking about White Castle like that. (We don't have those either.)
You guys are getting me hungry also...
Talking bout all these booooger joints is getting hungry and I even had to double check what tread I was in. Was not sure if it said booooger joints....
FN250...I doubt I would be able to get in my truck if I get a Tommy's double chilli cheese burger with some chilli cheese fries...Stuff is good, but you will pay the price later...
I noticed the other day the my rear diff cover is peeling (black paint) and under there's rust I was sooo ****ed, I haven't had a chance to take it to Ford, but is this common?
My 2001 cover peeled after towing my travel trailer from Anchorage to Little Rock with only 10,000 total miles (2 years ago)...
Still under warranty, I took it to the dealer. I got the "they all do that" and "it's normal because of the heat generated, especially when towing" reply from the Service Manager. He also told me all paint will peel when it gets hot. I then asked him why my black BBQ grill never has that problem...
He repainted it.
I saw a finned aluminum cover with dipstick on someone's post a few months back... Does anyone have the link for that cover? It increased the oil capacity and included a drain and fill port for easy lube change.
I purchased my polished aluminum covers through ORU (offroadUnlimited) and am happy with the quality. Looks great too
Blasphemer.Fn250, which Fard stealership we talkin' bout here? ANd for all, you can get a gasket for any type of cover. They just don't work as well as rtv. However, the rings on the mag covers work fairly well.
I have the Mag-Hytec on the rear diff of my truck and I like it.........and I just ordered the Dynatrac Extreme Duty cover for the front diff (IMO, it's the best looking cover available, since I'm not a fan of the polished aluminum ones).
The mag hytec is a great product my diff now holds 2 gal of oil and I also have the trans pan which added a bunch more to it. Helps keep it all cool when towing real heavy.
Another vote for the Mag-Hytec here, good looking, extra capacity, dip stick, and drain plug...what more could you want from a diff cover?....how about a magnet to catch any metal shavings and a place to add a temp sending unit for oil temp gauge if you want....did I mention it looks good too!
