Purchased my first PSD about a week ago. F350,6.0, 4x4, CC,LB. I put 600 miles on it and have enjoyed every one. However, right at 55 mph I feel vibration at the pedal. When I'm doing 50 or 60 no vibration. I had a passenger in the back tell me he could feel the vibratioin on the floor board. Not a bad vibration just enough to notice. Having only owned gas trucks in the past I don't know whether to right it off as a diesel thing or should I be concerned. Otherwise the truck is great. thanks in advance.
2 piece driveshaft, inherent in design, get your dealer to see if he can shim or adjust the angle of the carrier bearing in the center of the shafts. Mine does it also and at take off.
ALSO have tires checked....My first set was bad...The dealer had the entire driveline balanced, the truck aligned twice...the wheels baalanced twice and finally fixed mine by swapping rims and tires with another on the lot...Problems were gone ever since..
first thing to do is take it to the dealer and ask them to check tires with there road force machine, it tells them if wheels are ok and tires are able to be balanced, I would bet the tires are bad they had to replace mine, and got another set and they were bad also. they finally went out back and pulled another truck in and swaped tires and wheels and let me be on my way.
Ford replaced both front tires on my '03 SRW F-350 because of vibration problems from the time I drove it off the lot. B F Goodrich 265X75X16 load range E.

Is this a 'buzzing' vibration?, that you feel in your feet on the floor, OR something you feel in the column?? and/or pedals/floor as a lower resonating vib/shake or ?.. There is a turbo drone/vibration that affects some trucks and is generally right around 60mph or so, + or - and felt through the floorboards.. Leave your truck in park, and bring the RPM's up 'slowly' to the speed/amount where you would normaly feel the vibration at 55MPH..Should be about 1650 or so..Any noticable vibs while in place, with no driving?..
It could be a tire/balance issue, (not like Ford hasn't had problems before), but with only 600 miles 'chances' are it's not.. Can you identify if the vib is front or back, right or left.. Or , just an overall vib.. Should be pretty easy to varify a tire/rim issue with a trip to Ford.. And a driveline shudder 'usually' is most noticeable on launch when pulling from a dead stop.. Worse while towing..
Lots of posibilities...
If you could supply a more 'defined' explaination of what your vib is like, it would be a help, and/or a trip to Ford is in order to varify and register your complaint..
My turbo drone problem was most noticeable at 55 mph at 1500 to 1600 rpm's. It would happen at other speeds briefly as it was passing thru 1500 to 1600. It was horrible at 55, I could feel it strongly in the pedals and hear a distinct drone noise. The turbo drone TSB fixed my vibration, no problems since. Hope this helps, John
HP, its not a shake but as you mentioned a lower resonating vibration. I could feel it on the pedal and throughout the floor board. I can't be felt on the the steering wheel. I'm going to try your suggestion this pm and place it in park and bring the rpms up gradually to 1650. I'll keep you posted. Thanks to all of you for responding.
