Throttle Body Problems

I've got a '96 F-150 with the 5.0 302. The throttle body's top hose connection rusted over. I bypassed the top connection and put bolts with hose fasteners in the other two hoses. I've been to every junkyard in town and nobody has this part. I went to the Ford dealership, and they want 400.00 dollars for just the throttle body.(Not including the whole plenum and intake system) I found one on ebay, but just in case I dont win, does anybody know if the 351 throttle body will fit on the 302? Thanks.

Yes, it will, but I think it's a different diameter.

yes, it does fit but diameter aren't the same. But, You can make it to work

Will it affect my engine at all? or would I just have to buy new intake hoses?

if you find a 351 TB in good shape at the bone yard you should be able to get the hoses too. It may make it run lean, but I don't know... The TB on my 351 is huge compared to my dad's 302.

pfogle, I think you have a hopped up engine though, don't you? I thought the intake system up to the throttle body is the same for 302's and 351's (in the F150's at least). I could be wrong though.

Not sure, I bought the van 4 years ago, popped the thing open, found a huge TB, and what appear to be 30lbph injectors, right now the AIR system is malfunctioning and I fear it's starting to plug the cat. I have no money to fix it right now.... It has good power, but just seems a bit doggy on take off anymore.
