I've asked this question a couple times but never really got an answer. It seems like my throttle body is making a noise like when you blow over the top of a glass bottle... kinda a moaning, wind sucking noise. I'm 99% sure its the throttle body, I can't really get a good listen even with a stethescope. I notice this noise at idle, and as soon as I take my foot off the gas. When I take off the air hoses and plug one of the holes in either butterfly it gets louder in the other one. I'm really not sure why this noise is there, it just started in the last few weeks but has gotten louder in the last couple days. The throttle body is clean as i can get it without removing it, should I take it off and clean it? I've never done this before so any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
its really kinda loud... never heard it before. My wife can hear it from half way down the block when I'm coming home. I'm not really worried about it but its annoying. I don't have any codes so I know its not serious
its all stock, and the noise goes away when i'm giving it any gas at all, its just when the butterfly's are closed. its a 351, and I can hear it with everything hooked up. I guess I could just turn the radio up a bit more, I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to get rid of the noise. Can't ask for too much with 226k on the meter.
don't have a video camera... it sounds just like a hillbilly blowing over the opening of a big liquor bottle... not sure how else to describe it. I'll try to get a video camera and post it up in the next week or so

oh i know.. my pulution pump did that noise and an bad alternator bearing can also cuase that noise
i'm not sure it would be the alternator seeing as how I can get the noise to change by plugging the hole in the butterfly. I'll look into it though. Not sure where the pollution pump is, can you point me in the right direction? Is it something I can delete or do I need it?

the pulution pump is the same side as the alt and you dont need it.. if you dont have inspection or whatever.. i just ran a shorter belt..
so that would make it below the alternator then right? I'll look into that but i'm pretty sure its the throttle body. I'll check it out tomorrow some more and try to narrow it down a bit. thanks for all the help
