Can someone verify a spec I saw in my Hayne's manual?

If someone out there has a Ford factory repair manual (or other manual), would you please look up the spec for the clearance between the rocker arm and valve stem? The clearance pertains to an all-components-installed condition and with the lifter completely compressed (i.e., with all the oil squeezed out of the lifter). Manual might state something like, "Compressed Lifter Clearance" or "Rocker Arm-to-Valve Stem Clearance."

I have a value in my Haynes manual, but I want to verify this with the spec from another manual.

Thanks,

Matt

95 manual: for 4.9 Collapsed Tappet Gap (Clearance) Desired - 0.125-0.175; Alowable 0.100-0.200". 5.0/5.8 Desired 0.091 - 0.151; Allowable 0.071-0.171 Lightning 5.8 is different. If you need more post back. Engine not specified above.

Thanks for the response! I'm sorry, but I now realize that I did forget to specify the engine and the year of the truck (man, what was I thinking? ). It's a 302 in a 1990 F150. I guess I was in such a hurry that I just blew right through that...

By the way, what manual did you use to look up these values?

Thanks,

Matt

Since you say it's the "95 manual" I guess that means the factory manual?

Thanks again,

Matt

Checked 88 ford factory manual says allowable is 0.071 - 0.193 and desired is 0.096- 0.165 for 302; hope this helps. This would probably be more correct than 1995 information since a change was made in body and probably emissions in 92.

I have the truck shop manual for a '90 that I bought when I bought the truck and the info above is shown just as stated.
