Assuming you use the same tires, that will add 1/2", because half of the extra inch will be ABOVE your axle. You can even lower the overall height by switching to lower-profile tires, even with 18" wheels.
as long as the tire diameter is the same, the wheel size isn't going to affect the height...
I repeat myself.
However, since a smaller diameter rim's tire will have a larger sidewall area which will allow for more flex in that area it could "sit" a bit lower than the same size tire on a larger rim since there is less sidewall. However is also greatly effected by air pressure, and whether the two are the same or not. All of this is talking about differences that are so small it really wouldn't change the height dramatically. So, to answer your question - don't worry about RIM/WHEEL size on vehicle height, worry about the TIRE DIAMETER.
Although if you are only running rims and no tires then yeah, the rim diameter is going to make a difference...
Well I'll be damed... Your right Jeff.(like I had any doubts) F250's get the 17" wheels and choice of 245x75R17 or 265x70R17 tires. I thought 18" wheels were accross the board. Do you have any pics of the 17" wheels yet Jeff?
That is great news for me really. There are many more options in 17" than 18" (least for now) Maxxis MT753 , MT754 Buckshot Mudder(nice) and others.
