How do you pull codes on 2000 4.0

Anyone know how to pull codes on a 2000 explorer
Mine keeps stalling out under acceleration has done
this 6 or 7 times before getting a code.I dont have
a code reader.

Get an OBDII scan tool. There is no other way to read the codes.

Did you find out anything? Having the same exact issues with the wifes car. Cleaned the IAC didnt help anything. I dont know where else to look. Almost acts like no fuel?

Do the fuel filter. If that doesn't work do a fuel pressure check on the schrader valve on the fuel rail. It should be at least 30lb. If lower drop the tank and change out the pump and strainer. Do a second reading after the swap to be sure the pressure has come up.

Most autozones will pull the codes for free. Call ahead to verify.

Would the low pressure in the fuel rail throw a code? Maybe not a light.

DTC codes turn "ON" the Check Engine Lite. When a code matures the lite comes "ON". So things don't set DTCs like low fuel pressure and bad spark plugs. You get driveability issues with those sort of things. You have to figure it out yourself. There is no "bad spark plug" DTC or "low fuel pressure" DTC. If you don't want to do a little digging take it to the dealership and pay to get raked over the coals.
