I know what your talking about. Some of these new vehicles are definatly what you would call ugly. Now your silverado isnt that ugly is it? Chrysler has a car called pacifica and that thing looks terrible. A guy in my town has one of those. Im no fan of it. Boy these car and truck designers must be lacking in smarts to design these things.
Nissan makes some fugly vehicles too (I hate the Xterra, not to ention the front end of the Titan), I saw this mall Nissan SUV in the parking lot, its called a Murano or something like that and it looks like an egg on 4 wheels. The honda elelment looks like crap too, I hate those stupid things.
Say what you want about the element but they are actually pretty roomy inside. I had a ride in one from a colleague the other day and it isn't a bad vehicle for someone who has to transport kids around. The back seats are elevated so kids can see out and you can just about hose the floor out because it mostly rubber. I agree that they aren't all that good looking, but the Aztec and Rendevous are much worse looking imo. I think it helped that she had hers in gray because the plastic cladding didn't stand out as much. However, I did not like how it had a huge dash in it, much like a new beetle because it makes it hard to see where the end of the car is.
The Element and Aztek are bad, but the Avalanche is just as bad. Note to carmakers: we don't like grey plastic cladding. If you want to make a panel dent resistant, fine, but paint the thing body color for the love of Pete.
Top 5 Ugly Cars in no particular order
Pontiac Aztek
Scion Xb
Buick Rendevous
Chevy Avalanche (the one without the plastic body panels actually looks average)
BMW 7 Series
It rivals the Pontiac Asstec for uglyness. Honda must not have done it's homework.
Aztek vs. Element: there is no winner in that beauty contest! They couldn't have made those vehicles any uglier if they tried!
And just so you don't think I'm incapable of admiring anything but a Ford:
Toyota's new Avalon is sharp, and I've liked just about everything that Audi has had to offer over the past few years. I even like the Malibu Maxx! (the sedan sucks, though....)
