But, but, but.....
that's a hard thing you're asking there
Drive it stock for a few days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd go crazy this thing is SO nice with the predator in +65HP mode
If I wanted to use it I have a feature in the ford gold remote starter where I could set it before pulling the key out and then leave with the key and it will idle for about 10 minutes.... but I've not really seen a need to do that nor had an issue in 33K+ miles ....

Bought a TurboSaver for the 6.0L diesel on mine. I push a button and take my key out, shut the door and walk off....not having to worry about turning my truck off, or anyone stealing it (anti-theft device when you press the break). I have the Extended Shutdown Time model... the one for 250minutes... www.shopdiesel.com is where I bought it from.
i have the newest edition of the predator...how do i clear the codes..or do you mean clear them by taking out the program?...is there any way to mess it up and leave more codes? thanks
I would recommend reading the manual thoroughly. It is all in there how to do things.
I would hook up a battery charger to your truck to make sure the battery stays charged because withall the turn on/off you do, it could run the battery down.
iceb52!
I have noticed that same noisy turbo wind down on my truck. I never noticed it till a few weeks ago, bought the truck used with 7,500 mi, currently at 10,500 mi. Definently not the norm for turbos IMO. I farm and drive semis so turbo diesels are something I've operated all types of. my truck is the only one to have that "dry bearing" sound at shutdown really noticable the slower the turbine spins.
Let us know if you have any luck at another dealer.
mine is a build date of 10/03 2004 reg cab XL AFE intake, turbo back 4" exhaust
was running SCMT in tow safe but dealer flashed the dang thing and it took away my pilot injection and now have to send the tuner in for an update.

go to diablosport.com
the owners manaul is online there ....
but pretty easy...
turn off a/c radio, lights set parking brake, plug in predator and follow prompts...
when I clear codes, I always go back and check for codes again just to ensure their all gone.... then drive it a while and if a code comes back, you know it was not a one time fluke...
I have an 04, F-250, CC, 4x4, 6.0, 2300 miles. When I shut off the engine, the turbo spin-down seems rather "noisy". It makes sort of a "grinding" sound. It fluctuates some as it slows down. If you touch the exhaust as it spins down, you can feel the vibration. Has anyone else had this "problem?" Or is it a problem at all? Any thoughts on this before I take it to the dealer and have them say "It's normal you idiot." I have not heard it on any other 6.0.
Mine does the same thing. Let me know what you find out. I have around 5500 on mine, and has done it ever since I bought the truck 3 months ago. It is a 03/03 build date.
Mine does the same thing it doesnt wind down, it grinds down. Mine is a Jan 2004 build date. It has done it since day one when I drove it off the lot with 35 miles on it. I have been wondering the same thing If anyone get some info please pass it on. My buddy in the slaps truck club says his 2003 does it also. It does sound pretty nasty when shutting down almost like the shaft is wobbling from excessive end play.
I have no new info on my truck yet. Hope to take it to a different dealer in the next couple of weeks. If anyone gets a dealer to fix / address the turbo spin down noise, please post an update. Again, the first dealer I took it too said that it was "normal." When I suggested we pull a new truck off the lot and see if it does it, he got sort of defensive and said "every truck will sound different even if they are the same." Sounded to me like he didn't want to admit there was a problem. I have had no performance problems and love the new truck otherwise. Just sort of afraid the turbo may decide to self destruct if a bearing is bad or something.
How STOOPID is THAT svc writer !?!?!
Real easy to fix that defensive attitude...
walk around to the sales area and ask to test drive a truck like yours...
drive it around to the service bay and ask him to hope in !!!

That's interesting since the 2003's and 04's have different turbos and pedestals.
I have the same issue in my 01/04 build Excursion 6.0. It sounds like taking two sharp carving knives and sliding the blade edges against each other. I have not had mine checked either.
My 8/03 build 04 and my friend's 1/04 build 04 sound the same - no noise or grinding. It is a bad situation when you know more about your truck than your dealer but thanks to this forum that is often the case. It is pitiful that you guys must prove something to your dealer that is obvious to us that don't have the problem.
